The Ossur Iceross Sleeve with Wave Feature is an incredibly engineered silicone suspension sleeve with one purpose, to maximize your potential. The Ossur Iceross sleeve is beautifully engineered with a laundry list of features. Let’s start with its horizontal and vertical wave feature. The horizontal wave feature allows for easier and less resistance to flexion. Less energy to flex your knee means more energy to cycle and hike. It stretches effectively along the front and folds in a controlled way behind the knee, reducing vaso-constriction and positively influencing blood-circulation in this area. Improved blood flow translates into more time before fatiguing. Ossur used one of their softer silicone formulas to reduce friction and pressure over bony areas, such as your knee cap. The Iceross Sleeve soft silicone also contours itself to your limb allowing for improved and longer lasting suction suspension. Ossur recommends using this Ossur sleeve with their Iceross Cushion Liner. The Ossur Iceross Sleeve can be used with a vacuum system.
Medical Grade Silicone
- Turn the Iceross sleeve inside out, half way, with silicone of bottom end half-exposed. Stretch the sleeve over the brim of the socket and roll distal end completely down.
- Roll down upper part of the sleeve until socket brim is completely exposed. Step into the socket and make sure the residual limb is positioned correctly in the socket. Roll the sleeve up with both hands.
Important: Do not pull on the edges as this may place strain on the skin.
Wash the Iceross sleeve daily, especially on the inside. To do so, remove the sleeve, turn it inside out and use Iceross clean and simple soap. Be sure to rinse with plenty of water, and wipe dry with a towel. The Iceross sleeve can also be machine washed (40-60°C/Warm). Turn the sleeve inside out during washing. Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all soap residue.
Anyone who develops skin irritation after contact with this material should discontinue its use immediately and consult a physician or Prosthetist.
